A recent study published at the end of 2014 examined a large number of clinical trials related to acupuncture and cerebral infarction (stroke). While some of the papers identified in the study could have been of better quality, the authors concluded that "acupuncture treatment is superior to either non-acupuncture or conventional therapy for cerebral infarction." One of the most important factors for success of treatment in our experience is timing. For acupuncture to be most effective, treatment must be initiated as soon as possible after stroke. The sooner treatment starts the better results tend to be. For more information please contact our office!
