Taiji (Tai Chi) Therapy - Part II (Trunk)

Taiji (also spelled Tai Chi) is one of the great internal martial arts of China. Although originally a powerful method of self-defense, Taiji also contains exercises that strengthen the body, treat disease and calm the mind.

Taiji Therapy is based on a centuries old exercise known as Silk Reeling, or Chan Si Gong 纏絲功. Silk Reeling movements use the power of circular movements to loosen joints, increase strength, and circulate Qi internally. In addition, Taiji Therapy adds acupressure and patting techniques to traditional Silk Reeling practices to offer a comprehensive health preservation exercise.

Part II of our class will focus on exercises for the trunk, including the chest, back and abdomen. Part II can be taken independently of Part I (you do not have to have taken Part I) $20 for the general public; $15 for NJCAOM patients (and their guests). To register please contact us by clicking here or call (973) 660-0110. Space is limited so please register early!
