Cultivating Life: Longevity Sciences of Chinese Medicine
Longevity sciences are a key area of study in Chinese medicine – the search for a long and healthy life is as old as the medicine itself.  As the largest segments of the American population ages, acupuncturists and Oriental medicine providers will be increasingly called upon to help guide people into a healthy old age.  This class discusses Chinese medical approaches to cultivating longevity, including lifestyle and diet, moxibustion, Chinese medicinals, and Qigong.  Participants will learn a basic longevity Qigong that can be taught to patients as well.  To wrap up we will discuss bridging East and West with how to manage geriatric patients.  Join Dr. McCann for this essential discussion.

A Day in the Clinic with Henry McCann
This is a continuation of our European Lecture Series.  Day 1 will review holographic systems as applied to acupuncture and then day 2 will focus on the use of advanced distal needle techniques to treat common gynecological conditions.  This visit will culminate in a day of clinical grand rounds as local acupuncturists follow Henry McCann as he describes the management of a variety of diseases in actual patients.  For more information please visit the Cork Institute of Postgraduate Acupuncture.

Public Courses:

Self Massage for Healing and Prevention
Come learn the basics of self massage and acupressure to prevent disease and treat current problems.  This class, open to the general public, will teach regimens that were once secrets of the Chinese imperial family.  It will also teach the basics of Chinese medical theory and introduce the locations and functions of some of the most important acupuncture points and how they can be activated with finger pressure.   $15 for the general public, $10 for current patients and their guests. Limited to 8 participants due to space limitations.

A Night of Fine Teas - An Introduction to Chinese Herbal Medicine
